When we got to Belize, I posted: “Almost 12 hours of travel by land, air, and sea, we made it to Belize! Already napped on the beach and did some snorkeling – this place is paradise!” And that was no exaggeration.

The trip started at about 3:14 am – after I hit snooze a few times. We hit the road by 3:30 am and drove an hour and a half to Lubbock, just in time to catch our 6 am flight.

After a short layover in Dallas, we got on a second flight, headed for Belize City. In Belize City, we had to take a little plane to San Pedro on Ambergris Caye.

I was clearly too nervous about this flight to take a picture in focus.

Why was I nervous?

This was our pilot…

… and this was our co-pilot…

That’s right. The least qualified person on the teeny, tiny airplane was in charge in case something went wrong. I don’t know what those people were thinking…

But, the view was pretty cool.

Once we landed in San Pedro, we had to take a boat to our resort.

And so, 12 hours later, we made it.

It’s nice to know that paradise is only a day away.

I’ve spent my fair share of time in the gardening section too! It’s a great place to be.

It was SO fun! We snorkeled, went to the jungle, saw Mayan ruins, and spent a bunch of time just lounging in the sun.
