A while back, I posted about the beginning stages of our house renovation. Several months ago, the kitchen caught on fire, which somehow led to redoing most of the house. It’s been months of renovations – and it’s finally at a place that I can share some of the progress.

Right now, I’m most excited about my bathroom – probably because it’s one of the rooms closest to being finished. Although the bathroom wasn’t in bad shape to begin with, we gutted it to improve the layout, raise the shower head (since neither Russell nor I are under 5’2!), and move the counter back so that the door can open completely instead of banging into the counter.

I forgot to take pictures before we started demo, but here are a few before pictures.

See, not bad. (Other than the giant hole we put in the wall where the shower used to be!)

But, check it out now.

I love rainfall shower heads, but we couldn’t put one in the ceiling. I think this one will do just fine though – especially since it’s actually ABOVE mine and Russell’s head!

I’m really excited about these built in shelves so that all of my shampoos, body washes, and bubble baths aren’t scattered all over the place.

And I really love all the details:

But I’m most excited about this:

Sitting in the whirlpool and relaxing!

Ok, the similarities in our lives are just freaking uncanny! Aside from the obvious parallels with the whole farm/ city girl thing, we literally just tiled our bathroom and even inlaid a strip of platinum tiles up the seam. You are my twin separated at birth!
